Privacy Policy — Pushy (Push-Ups Alarm)
Pushy is an alarm app designed to help you wake up by requiring a short set of push-ups to turn off the alarm. This policy outlines how we handle your personal information, what data stays strictly on your device, and what details are securely stored in the cloud if you choose to create an account.
1) Privacy Overview
We believe in user-friendly, transparent data practices. Here is a high-level overview of our privacy model:
- Optional Accounts: You are welcome to use Pushy as an anonymous guest. Signing up for an account is entirely optional.
- Guest Mode: If you use Guest Mode, all of your workout progress and alarm settings are stored locally on your device only. We do not sync it to any server.
- Cloud Backup: If you register an account, we securely sync your workout stats, history, and active settings to our cloud database so you can recover your progress on another device.
- Strict Camera Privacy: The camera feed is analyzed in real-time on your device to count repetitions. Absolutely no video, photo, or visual recording of you or your exercise is saved, recorded, or sent to a server.
2) Data Stored Locally on Your Device
To configure and play your alarms, we save standard settings in your device's local app storage:
- Alarm timetables (times, days, active status, and repeat intervals).
- Alarm settings (sound selection, volume, vibration, and channels).
- Required push-up counts for each alarm.
- Custom audio files you import from your device to use as alarm tones.
- Your cumulative workout progress and streaks (if using Guest Mode).
Retention: Local settings remain on your device until you delete them in-app, clear your device's app storage, or uninstall Pushy.
3) Live Camera Usage & Repetition Counting
Pushy uses the camera strictly to verify that you are performing the required movements to turn off the alarm.
- No Recordings or Photos Saved: The video stream is processed frame-by-frame in real-time directly on your phone's processor. **At no point is any video, photo, image, or visual data of you or your exercise recorded, saved in local storage, or transmitted to any external servers.**
- Camera Permission Requirement: The app relies entirely on camera-based motion analysis to dismiss your alarm; there is no manual verification button or snooze override. While you can revoke camera permissions in your device settings at any time, the camera permission must be active for the app to detect your push-ups and successfully silence the alarm.
4) Notifications & System Permissions
To ensure your alarms ring reliably at the exact scheduled times, the app requests standard notification and alarm scheduling permissions. These are managed locally by your operating system and are used solely to trigger the alarm screen and play the audio alerts.
5) Accounts, Cloud Syncing & Leaderboards
If you decide to register a profile, the following data interactions occur:
- Authentication Data: You can register using an email address or sign in with Google or Apple. We store your email address and basic identifiers to manage your secure session.
- Profile Data: We store a customizable display name. If you use a third-party sign-in option (Google or Apple), we may retrieve basic profile information (such as your profile picture link or display name) to set up your profile.
- Cloud Synchronization: We back up your workout history to our secure servers. This includes completed reps, target reps, streaks, start and end timestamps, and workout duration.
- Leaderboards: Registered users can opt to participate in weekly and all-time user leaderboards. Participation is voluntary. You can customize your display name to hide your real identity, or opt out of the leaderboard entirely in the app settings, which immediately removes your stats from public view. Guests are never displayed.
6) Third-Party Services, Payments & Analytics
We integrate secure third-party tools to support in-app features:
- Payments: Premium upgrades and support donations are processed directly through the native Apple App Store and Google Play Store under their billing terms. We use a secure subscription management service to check active receipts and unlock premium features for your account.
- Analytics & Optimization: We collect anonymous application usage metrics (such as onboarding progress, paywall views, and general feature interactions) to debug issues and improve the app layout.
- Sub-Processors: To maintain infrastructure security, technical specifications and vendor names of our databases, hosts, subscription managers, and analytics platforms are kept confidential. A complete list of active processors can be provided upon request by contacting support.
7) Children’s Privacy
Pushy is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided data or created an account, please contact us so we can immediately delete their records.
8) Your Choices, Controls & Data Deletion
- Permissions: You can enable or disable notification and camera access in your device settings at any time.
- Leaderboard Visibility: You can edit your display name or toggle your leaderboard visibility off in settings.
- Account & Data Deletion: You have the right to delete your account and all associated cloud-synced data at any time. You can trigger this process directly from the in-app settings screen, or request data deletion by contacting us at iuri.jorbenadze@gmail.com. We will process your request within 30 days.
9) Security
We use industry-standard encryption protocols to secure data in transit and at rest. We restrict sensitive integrations (like the camera) to live, on-device-only processing, and we only synchronize necessary progress statistics.
10) International Users
Our cloud servers are hosted in secure regions worldwide. By using our cloud sync services, you consent to the storage and processing of your progress metadata and profile details in these locations.
11) Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material updates will be updated with a new effective date.
